Drum solo from behind the kit in NJ. I’ll be changing this solo in 2012 when we go back to EU by the way. We wanted to keep the same theme for 2011 so everyone could see something similar each night and feel like they knew it a bit; much like wanting to see a song played a certain way. I do improvise this each night, but I do stay with the same themes of 7, then 5 then 7/16. All the polyrhythms over those signatures, like 17, 8 and other patterns, are felt in 7,5 & 7 if you’re wanting to follow it.
